How does Hona manage Product Feedback?
At Hona, we strive to create products that are constantly growing to fulfill the Business needs of our customers. To this end, we consider feedback from our customers not only helpful, but essential.
Given the diverse range of feature requests we receive from all our customers, each request is carefully evaluated based on its complexity of its build into the software, and the overall demand for the feature from our total customer base. Our dedicated Product and Engineering teams strive to balance these factors while maintaining the high standards of quality and performance you expect from our product.
To ensure we address requests in a structured and efficient manner, we prioritize them based on several criteria:
Total Customer Need: The extent to which the feature will benefit the wider Hona community.
Complexity of Build: The level of effort and resources required to build and implement the feature into the product.
Roadmap Alignment: How well the feature aligns with our strategic goals and existing plans.
All updates, improvements, and features that Hona creates are based on the feedback/requests we receive from our customers. So while we may not be able to implement every request immediately, please be assured that your feedback is an essential part of our product development process and we always encourage more.
Why is it better to submit Product Feedback myself instead of through a Hona representative?
There is oftentimes the misconception that having a Hona rep submit your Product Feedback will increase the priority of the submission. This is not true, and oftentimes is actually the opposite if our Product or Engineering team want more information about the request. Your direct feedback is most crucial to our Product and Engineering teams, as you have the best insight on how additional features will provide value in the product. We want to build features that are easy to use for you, so your direct feedback guides our vision for how new features are built.
While our Hona reps are happy to submit feedback for you, they are not responsible for following up on those requests. This is primarily because Hona reps manage support communication for all of our customers, so tracking every request is simply not a feasible responsibility for them. Submitting these requests yourself will allow you to follow up with Hona directly on the request, especially considering the nature of these requests are primarily managed by customer need (you) and complexity of build (which only our Product and Engineering teams will be able to evaluate), not the individual opinion of the Hona rep who may have submitted the request.
If you are already working with a Technical Account Manager to manage the creation of a large feature (likely one you have invested funds or resources into having built), you can expect them to track and follow-up with you during that process. However, for general product feedback or feature requests, it is best to submit these requests yourself.
