Step 1: Getting Started

Before beginning setup, you'll need:

  • A video introduction (recommended)

  • Contact your Hona support representative to enable Lead Capture

  • Wait for confirmation before proceeding with setup

Step 2: Initial Configuration

Once Lead Capture is enabled, navigate to the Chatbot section in your Hona dashboard. You'll need to configure several key components:

Video Setup

  • Click the video upload area

  • Upload a high-quality MP4 video (recommended length: 30-60 seconds)

  • Select or upload a thumbnail image for your video

  • Pro tip: Keep your video welcoming and concise. Introduce yourself and your firm's expertise

Form Configuration

The chatbot engages potential clients in a conversational flow, asking questions to gather information and qualify leads. You can customize this conversation while maintaining a natural, engaging experience.

Required Questions

The chatbot will always ask these essential questions to gather basic contact information:

  • First Name

  • Last Name

  • Phone Number

  • Email Address

When collecting the phone number, leads will automatically be shown a text message consent notice. This is required by regulations, and Hona tracks whether contacts have agreed to receive text communications.

Optional Questions

Enhance your qualification process by adding questions relevant to your practice areas. The chatbot presents these in a natural conversation flow. Consider including:

  • Type of Legal Matter

  • Date of Incident

  • Description of Case

  • How They Found Your Firm

  • Preview how your video plays and how the chatbot appears with your selected color scheme

After configuration, you'll need to add the Lead Capture widget to your website:

  1. Locate the code snippet at the bottom of the Chatbot page

  2. Copy the provided code

  3. Add the code to your website's HTML, ideally just before the closing </body> tag

  4. For specific integration help with your website platform, contact your web developer or reach out to Hona support
