Getting Started
What is a Business User?
What is a Business User?
Someone who has their own account and login to a Hona Business Org.
Let's say your team is made up of 1 Attorney and 3 legal staff members in various roles. If everyone at the firm wants to use Hona, this means that their Hona Business Org would need 4 Hona Business Users, one for each member of the legal team. All 4 staff members will have their own login credentials and Notification Settings.
**To add more Users to your Hona Org, visit Configuring Hona Team Tab.

What is a Business User Notification? How are these different than the ones my Clients are receiving?
Business User Notifications are the notifications that a Business User receives when one of their Clients takes action in Hona. A Client takes action by interacting with one of the Hona features configured by the Business in their Hona Org. Actions the Clients can take through Hona are texting their law firm, or submitting responses to other Hona features like Forms, E-Signatures, Review Requests, and NPS Surveys, etc.
Business = Builds Hona features in their Hona Business Org. Some of these features are client-facing (like the Client Portal), while some are more focused on improving Business workflow.
Client = Uses the Hona features that appear in their Hona Client Portal. The Business can receive notifications when they do.
Why do I have my own Notification Settings? Why can't my Admin just set mine for me?

Everyone plays a different role at your Business, and those roles likely vary in the level of Client communication they are responsible for. Depending on how your Business configures their Hona Org, it is very likely that some Business Users will need more notifications from Client actions than others. While there are also technical reasons for this, ultimately, it's because your Business experience is better in Hona if each User has their own Notification Settings configured for their individual role and personal preferences.

Once you have decided the type of notification you want to receive, some Hona Features will also allow you to add a Filter onto that Notification Type for a more precise Business workflow. Filtering your Notification Type will make it so you are notified in the appropriate way for the appropriate Hona Feature, but only if you meet certain Team criteria.
